Betony Rowland obtained her Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Marine Biology from Dalhousie University and her Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University, Schulich School of Law, in 2011. She was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2012 and the British Columbia Bar in 2016. Betony joined AMJ Law shortly after relocating to Vancouver in 2016.
Betony works primarily in the areas of civil litigation and wills and estates. She advises on estate planning and elder law issues including the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and representation agreements. She also advises her clients on estate administration and estate litigation, including wills variation claims under the Wills, Estates, and Succession Act.
In addition to the above, Betony can advise on employment law issues including wrongful termination and contract review. Her broad background in private practice and in house enables her to provide knowledgeable advice that is practicable and tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Outside of work, Betony enjoys SCUBA diving, climbing, backcountry camping, and hiking.
Betony is a member in good standing of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, the Law Society of British Columbia, and the Canadian Bar Association.
